The 2015-2016 school year has brought new students and staff to our school, including interim head of school, Lloyd Dozeman. Lloyd is an experienced educator and loving grandfather to three LSA students. The past few months, he’s been working hard getting to know the students and staff, settling into his role, and developing our theme “GROWing Together… in Community” with the students and staff.
“It is a great staff that is also determined to integrate their faith walk into the day-to-day responsibilities,” Lloyd says.
“I feel so strongly that there is genuine concern for the welfare of each other. LSA definitely has a a rich learning environment, one that allows students to grow in each individual classroom as well as with students from other grade levels. It is a Christ-centered school in every sense of the word!”
He graduated from Holland Christian High School and Calvin College. He has his M.Ed. in administration/supervision from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to working with the Living Stones community, Lloyd served schools in Lansing, IL; Lake Worth, FL; Everett, WA; and Holland, MI (Holland Christian Schools). He and his wife Jan recently spent five years in China teaching at the university level and mentoring teaching teams throughout China. Jan is a very active volunteer in the LSA library.
Lloyd and Jan are blessed with three children and spouses. Jen and Nathan Willink live in Grand Rapids, with their children and LSA students Josiah, Corena, and Everett. Joel and Allie Dozeman live in Portland, OR, where Joel works for a lumber company (as well as building his first “tiny house”), and Allie is in her 3rd and final year of medical residency in Podiatry. Bethany and Tony Bakker live in Holland where Tony does online work in the music industry, and Bethany serves Holland Heights CRC as Ministries Director as well as Director of Music and Worship.
